Michael Jackson's Children Honor Their Late Father

Prince, Blanket and Paris Jackson

Taking to the stage amid rapturous applause, Michael Jackson's children Prince, Paris and Blanket appeared Saturday at the Michael Forever tribute concert in Wales.

The trio was called upon to introduce a special video performance by Beyoncé, who sang Jackson's hit "I Wanna Be Where You Are."

After Blanket, 9, had taken the microphone, sister Paris addressed the crowd of 50,000 gathered at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

"We're very happy to be here on this special night to honor our father," the 13-year-old – who sported in a "Thriller"-style leather jacket – said.

Brother Prince, 14, added his own remarks about the pregnant pop star before Paris concluded their appearance, saying, "She carries the torch lit by our father and it gives me great pleasure to introduce this woman."

Backstage, the children impressed performer Alexandra Burke, who told reporters, "They seem very, very sweet and calm. Their energy's beautiful."

Other singers who took the glove-shaped stage included Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and dad-to-be Ne-Yo, who's expecting a son this fall.

"It's not about the controversy," the singer-songwriter told the AP in regards to the timing of the concert, which took place as Dr. Conrad Murray stands trial for administering a lethal dose of propofol to Jackson, who died in June 2009.

"It's not about the trial. It's not about his death. It's about celebrating his life. It's about celebrating his music."
