Kentucky helicopter crash: Multiple people feared dead after two HH60 Blackhawk helicopters collide

Authorities are conducting an investigation into an incident that occurred around 9:35 pm local time (1:35 am GMT), which reportedly resulted in the potential loss of nine lives. According to local military officials, two HH60 Blackhawk helicopters were involved in a crash during a routine training mission. The military base involved in the crash is Fort Campbell, and the status of the crew members is currently unknown. The spokesperson confirmed that the command is prioritizing the care of the service members and their families.

Governor Andy Beshear expressed his condolences over the tragic incident, stating that early reports indicate fatalities are expected. The incident is currently under investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.

Fort Campbell military base is situated in close proximity to Trigg County. The helicopters involved in the crash belong to the 101st Airborne Division, which is the sole air assault division in the US Army and has been deployed to conflict zones worldwide.
