Chelsea sack Graham Potter after loss to Aston Villa

Rumors have been circulating that Chelsea FC have sacked their head coach, Graham Potter, following a series of disappointing performances by the team. It is said that the final straw was their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa, which left the Blues struggling in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Potter had joined Chelsea in September last year, following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel. Despite the team's considerable spending on players such as Enzo Fernandez, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Benoit Badiashile in the January transfer window, Potter has struggled to inspire consistency in the team's performance.

Although Chelsea managed to reach the Champions League quarter-finals by defeating Borussia Dortmund, their recent form in the Premier League has been poor, with just two wins in their last nine games.

As a result of Saturday's defeat, Chelsea slipped further down the table, allowing Unai Emery's Aston Villa to move into the top half. Potter was subsequently relieved of his duties as head coach and replaced by former Brighton full-back Bruno Saltor, who will serve as interim head coach while the club searches for a permanent replacement.

In a statement on their website, Chelsea thanked Potter for his contributions and announced that he would work with the club to ensure a smooth transition. Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, co-majority owners of the club, expressed their disappointment with the decision, praising Potter's professionalism and integrity as a coach and a person.
The board also reiterated that they had their focus on the rest of the season
"We have 10 Premier League games remaining and a Champions League quarter-final ahead.

"We will put every effort and commitment into every one of those games so that we can end the season on a high."
Chelsea host Liverpool in their next Premier League game on Tuesday before visiting Wolves on Saturday, after which they will travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for the first leg of their Champions League last-eight tie against holders Madrid
