DC Comics Unveils ‘Blue Beetle” Trailer For First Latino-Led Superhero Movie

For comic book lovers, Blue Beetle is one of the most exciting comic book series over the years. it was created in the year 1939 and  DC Comics, bought the rights to the character in 1983, using the name for three distinct characters over the years.
The Blue Beetle movie is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle, produced by DC Studios and the Safran Company, and directed by Angel Manuel Soto from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. It is intended to be the 14th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU)

DC Comics has released the trailer for Blue Beetle, its first-ever Latino-led live-action superhero movie. The film follows the story of Jaime Reyes, a college student who becomes the Blue Beetle after uncovering an ancient Scarab that binds itself to his spine. The trailer features Lil Uzi Vert's "I Just Wanna Rock" as the soundtrack and shows Reyes and his family's journey. 

The film stars Xolo Maridueña, Bruna Reis Maia, Javier “Harvey” Guillén, George Lopez, and Susan Sarandon. Reyes is the third and most recent variation of the Blue Beetle character in the comic book, created by Keith Giffen, John Rogers, and Cully Hamner. The film is set to be a unique take on superhero movies, emphasizing the importance of family in the story.
