Peacock, the streaming platform, has renewed the modern adaptation of the ‘90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Bel-Air, for a third season, ahead of its season two conclusion this April. The series has already broken records as the most-watched original sophomore series on Peacock since it debuted in February. With Will Smith as an executive producer and DJ Jazzy Jeff lauding it as “his favorite show ever,” Bel-Air was always poised to thrive.

Season two follows Will (Jabari Banks) as he clashes with a new person who challenges his preconceived notions and seeks to take control of his influence. Morgan Cooper, the series creator, stated in an interview with VIBE that the team at Bel-Air thrives under pressure, adding, “As a storyteller, if your heart is in the right place and focused on these characters and not getting caught up in the ‘pressure’ of it all… Then pressure is really just an illusion.”

Banks describes the upcoming season as a true coming-of-age story, explaining that Will often makes the wrong decisions, and gets himself in trouble, but finds a way out. The second season has been described as compelling, jarring, and exciting, with new episodes airing weekly until April 27.
