On April 17, 2023, rapper Desiigner, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, was charged with indecent exposure after he allegedly exposed himself and masturbated on a Delta flight in the first-class section. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Minnesota charged him with a misdemeanor for indecent exposure on an aircraft.
According to prosecutors, Selby was informed that his actions violated federal law and was moved to the back of the plane where he was monitored by two of his travel companions. Upon landing at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, he was interviewed by an FBI agent.
In response to the incident, the rapper posted a statement on his Instagram stories expressing shame and apologizing for his actions. He revealed that he had been struggling with his mental health and had recently been admitted to a hospital while overseas for a concert. He stated that he was not thinking clearly and was given medication before boarding the plane back to the U.S.
